Story
Building the Future—One Block at a Time
Seventeen years ago, Arts ROC Inc. was founded with a simple idea: create programs that inspire young people to learn, create, and imagine through the arts and technology.
As today’s students grow up in an increasingly digital world, our work has evolved to meet them where they are—empowering digitized youth to express themselves through creativity, innovation, and community.
That vision led to the creation of Hands Across Minecraft.
Inspired by the belief that young people can shape the future when they build together, Hands Across Minecraft invites students across America to design their own Minecraft characters, represent their communities, and join a national movement celebrating creativity, unity, and America’s 250th birthday.
What began as a mission to inspire creativity has grown into something bigger:

Our Mission
Our mission is to inspire students to create, connect, and represent their communities through Hands Across Minecraft—empowering young people to support their schools while participating in a national student movement celebrating creativity, unity, and America’s 250th birthday.
Through simple classroom activities, students design their Minecraft characters, share their stories, and place their block in a growing movement of young builders across the country.
